Facebook has a new feature everyone is clamoring about – Facebook fan pages. So, I’ve been learning to create a fan page.
Yesterday I was using the FireFox browser and the layout was clean.
Today, I checked the page with Internet Explorer (IE).
Ewww! The ‘Wall’ elements were smooshed and jumbled on top of each other.
In search of an answer
I asked my Twitter followers and my Facebook friends, “Are Facebook pages displaying cleanly in IE? Wall elements jumbled on top of each other in mine.”
Google search didn’t provide the answer. One Facebook friend had the same problem. A Twitter search confirmed I was not alone.
And yet, no one had an answer. Until now.
Are you the kinda person that won’t quit until it gets done? I am.
With great gnashing of teeth I dismantled the elements so carefully constructed just the day before.
Tabs: deleted. Favorite fan pages: deleted. Notes: deleted. And still, my fans appeared smooshed in the wrong area of the site.
Account settings: revised.
Eureka!
Basic information office hours: deleted. And, woo hoo! My fans shifted back in place.
Having problems with your fan page displaying cleanly in Internet Explorer? Try editing the basic information settings first.
