Get More Traffic for Your Blog

Michael Martine, better known as Remarkablogger for his remarkable blog consulting and coaching has hit one out of the park with this idea.blog-home-run

Increase Your Blog Traffic

If you just started a blog and want a little increase in blog traffic, here’s what you do:

  1. Leave a comment at the bottom of this post with your blog’s URL in the website field and describe your blog in a short paragraph.
  2. Subscribe to my RSS feed (it’s all I ask in return for helping you boost your traffic).
  3. Make sure you also subscribe to the comments on this post so that you get alerted on every new comment.
  4. Every time a new comment is added, go and visit that blog! This is simply the golden rule at work: do for others as you would have them do for you. You want traffic? Give traffic.
  5. But here’s where it really gets good: Subscribe to the other blogs’ RSS feeds.
  6. Stumble a post or two from the other blogs.
  7. Write a post on your own blog, link to this post so others can participate and write about the new blogs you have found. Link to them.

That’s it!

You Have to Share to Succeed

If you plan to swoop in with a quick comment, and wait for the flood of traffic… Ain’t gonna happen.

Read the blogs of others. Meet new people. Have a conversation.

Last night I met a Minneapolis ex-Realtor with family in Marietta — never would have happened if I wasn’t subscribed to Remarkablogger.

Play Ball!

The more you give, the more you get.

So, I want all 5 of my readers looking for more traffic to leave a comment now. Subscribe to the comments to round the bases and score more blog traffic.

  2. Hi! Here from Remarkablogger. I’m in Minneapolis, so am forwarding your link to family in Marietta. Great site! I’m an ex-realtor, and this is exactly what the industry needed years ago.

  4. Maureen, I didn’t see that report from Cambrige University. Do you have a link available? It would be interesting to see where I fall in the mix. (I do know that Aries rank high for auto accidents, but that’s another story.)

  6. Hello fellow Atlantan and Remarkabloggee. I read the article on spam and wondered why some people with a website use a gmail or yahoo e-mail address. This explains a lot. Thanks!

  8. Kathy, first of all what a fun idea. Love it!!!

Here’s my 2 cents: My site – http://www.PasadenaCARealEstateHomes.com is a local resource for real estate consumers living or searching for a home in and around Pasadena, California. I provide commentary on the local real estate market statistics, FREE listing MLS search, buyer and seller educational posts and mortgage updates. Also, neighborhoods are profiled and featured and fun articles on other subjects are added periodically.

Looking forward to new subscribers and feedback on the site. :-)

  10. You definitely have to “Give” to “get!” And the more you give, the more you get!

Visiting other sites, engaging in the conversation (via comments), acknowledging and getting to know your readers… All of these are a great way to drive traffic! Not only do you drive traffic, by interacting, you ensure that your readership grows and stays with you.
